Having started the season so well, it was good to see the 2’s regain their winning momentum after a recent wobble. West Bridgeford won the toss and chose to bat and were restricted by some very tight bowling and excellent fielding to 185 in their 45 overs. As the players came off for tea the skies looked ominously dark and sure enough the covers went on midway through the tea break. The rain eased a little and so the BCC run chase started in a fine drizzle. With the threat of rain there was no hanging about and skipper Matt Harland set the tempo with a quickfire 21 of 15 balls. All the batsmen contributed with Jake Fisher, 41 and Harry Adams, 71* top scoring. In what was now torrential rain the winning runs were hit by 14 year old Aled King (19*) with more than 13 overs to spare. Credit must go to West Bridgeford for staying out in almost impossible conditions to finish the match. #UTB

Great team result for the 2s…. and fair play to WB for playing out the game in the weather.
